Dr. B.C. DeSpain was the 3rd President of Life University in Marietta, Georgia and made history as he successfully steered that institution through an historical accreditation crisis. Just prior, he was Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Before moving to higher education, Dr. DeSpain spent over 20 years as a public school teacher, principal, and Superintendent of Schools. He also had a wide range of business and industrial experiences ranging from quality control to engineering and design management to software development. He established two successful businesses and served on several national and international Boards of Directorship.
Dr. DeSpain was an accomplished researcher and authored a long list of publications. He served as a consultant to business and educational agencies throughout North America. He was a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and was dedicated to improving leadership training. He was strongly committed to Servant Leadership with proven experience and research to support his work.
