Abstract
The pediatric population in the United States is overwhelmed with children with acute and chronic infections. Acute respiratory infection is a major cause of illness and death worldwide. In children, acute respiratory infection is the major cause of death outside the neonatal period in developing countries.1 The overuse of antibiotics for mild infections can lead to antibiotic resistant illnesses.2
