Abstract

Objective: To present the positive health outcomes following subluxation-based chiropractic care on the management of a 10-year-old with enuresis.

Clinical Features: A 10-year-old male presented to the private chiropractic practice for examination and evaluation. The patient suffered from enuresis since he was two and a half years old. The parent noted he had not experienced more than two consecutive dry nights in a row since he was three. He also had shoulder pain.

Intervention and Outcomes: The patient was analyzed and adjusted utilizing the Gonstead Technique. After the first adjustment, the patient experienced three dry nights. This was the longest sequence of dry nights since the problem began seven years prior. After 13 more adjustments, the patient reported only two incidents over a 3-month time period. The patient also experienced a decrease in his shoulder pain after the first adjustment.

Conclusions: This case report is a documented instance of subluxation-based chiropractic care on the management of a patient with enuresis. The patient received specific intersegmental adjustments according to the Gonstead Technique and experienced a reduction in the symptoms of enuresis.
