Abstract
Responses to “A Contemporary View Of Subluxation That Is Consistent With The Founder’s Views: A Commentary” by David R. Seaman, D.C.
“David Seaman provided his view of subluxation which he claimed was consistent with the views of the founder of chiropractic. I agree with Dr. Seaman that it is important for chiropractors to continue basic science research and develop models of vertebral subluxation. I would also defend his right to publish his opinion regarding same. However, to claim his model is consistent with the views of the founder, while also stating that he is on faculty of an institution bearing the name of the founder, may provide the less well informed reader with the misconception that our founder advocated prescribing dietary advice and rehabilitative exercise. Such is not true…” – Dr. Affolter
“I would like to thank Dr. Seaman for his excellent and informative commentary. I must admit however that I was a bit surprised to read Dr. Seaman’s current commentary regarding subluxation in light of what he has written in the past. …” – Dr. Chestnut
