Abstract
Objective: This paper presents a case study showing the use of the Pierce Results System™ resulting in bilateral sciatica improvement after 11 visits.
Clinical Features: A 77-year-old man presented to a private practice where a thorough history was taken, and he was examined for the presence of vertebral subluxation complex, which included the use of infrared thermography, radiography and videofluoroscopy. Multiple vertebral subluxations were identified, and the AP lumbosacral radiograph showed sacral deviation of 5 mm.
Intervention and Outcomes: The patient was seen 11 times over 1½ months before his first re-examination. The patient received three cervical, two lumbar, and three sacral adjustments. At the re-examination, the sacrum was only displaced 1 mm. Subjectively, the patient responded to care very well with a marked reduction in sciatica symptomatology.
Conclusions: The findings of this case study suggest that specific chiropractic care using the Pierce Results System™ for the reduction of vertebral subluxations had a positive effect on bilateral sciatica symptomatology.
