Abstract

Objective: To present the positive health outcomes following chiropractic in a patient suffering from cyclic vomiting syndrome.

Clinical Features: A six-year-old male presented for evaluation of cyclic vomiting syndrome of approximately three years’ duration.  He had seen his pediatrician, gastroenterologist, and pediatric neurologist prior to presenting for chiropractic with no change in outcomes from multiple drug interventions.

Intervention and Outcome: The patient received a single, full spine adjustment using Diversified technique as well as a recommendation for oral probiotics.

Conclusion: After a single adjustment he reported one very mild episode of vomiting followed by complete resolution.  His condition remained completely resolved at his five-month follow-up.

Keywords: cyclic vomiting syndrome, chiropractic, adjustment, probiotics, vertebral subluxation
